The Manure/Biosolids Applications table includes an Acres applied column. For all farms, this shows the acres available for manure spreading in the season of application according to the 590 standard. On WPDES permitted farms on fields that include SWQMAs, the acres displayed change not only with the season, but also with the method of manure application and the SWQMA application strategies selected. For actual manure application records that have been imported from the Daily Log, this column displays the actual acres applied.
How Acres Applied is used: The acres displayed are used, along with the per acre application rate, to calculate the total manure volume applied with each application for the Nutrient Applications by Season table, for the Planned Applications tally in the Nutrient Application Planner, and reports.
Acres Applied - 590 Nutrient Management Plans
For Winter applications, Acres applied is the Winter Spreadable acres in the Spreadable Acres table on the Fields screen. The 300 ft buffers around direct conduits to groundwater, SWQMAs, and other areas where spreading is prohibited in the winter are not included in Winter Spreadable acres. For Fall, Spring, and Summer applications, Acres applied is the same as Cropping Acres.

Acres applied on WPDES permitted farms
On permitted farms, the Acres applied for fall, spring and summer applications in fields without any SWQMA restrictions is the Cropping Acres shown in the Spreadable Acres table on the Fields screen. Winter applications have the Manure spreadable acres Winter in Acres applied. The Acres applied for fields with SWQMA restrictions depends on the farm's selected SWQMA strategies and the Spread method. If strategy 1 is selected and the manure is injected or incorporated, the Manure spreadable acres 25 ft is used. Manure spreadable acres 25 ft are also used if strategy 2 is selected and the field is in long term no-till (current year and 3-prior years have "None" or "No-till" for tillage). If manure is unincorporated in the spring, fall or summer and the field is long-term no-till, strategy 5 is assumed and Acres applied is Manure spreadable 100ft.

Acres applied from Daily Log imports
When actual manure applications are imported from the Daily Log, the Acres Applied in the Manure/Biosolids Applications table is also imported for each application record in the Daily Log.
