SnapMaps requires JavaScript to function. If you open SnapMaps and can only see the menu bar, Layers sidebar, and the Active Tool status label, or a message stating that JavaScript is disabled, JavaScript may be disabled on your browser.
In Internet Explorer JavaScript is managed by your Internet Zone. Click on the gear () in the upper right corner of your browser. In the menu which opens click on Internet Options. This will open the Internet Options window. Click on the Security tab. Here you will see four icons with labels representing the four zones. Click on Internet. Change the slider below to be Medium-high. This will allow JavaScript to run correctly. If you want this set to High for other sites, you will have to reset the level after you finish using SnapMaps. Click OK and reload the page. SnapMaps will now function properly. |
If JavaScript is disabled in Firefox it is likely due to an extension. This can be done through a setting, but it is very hard to get to. Click on three horizontal lines () in the upper right corner of the window. Click on Add-ons. In the tab which opens click on Extensions. Look for the extensions NoScript and Ghostery, or anything else that may block JavaScript. Either disable this extension or tell it to trust SnapMaps. |
If JavaScript is disabled in Chrome, a no script icon will appear in the right side of the navigation bar.
Click on the No Script icon to open the balloon seen below. Change the radio button to Always Allow... and then reload the page. SnapMaps will now function properly.
