To help with submitting a farm with headland stacking sites to DNR, we created a tool (Information Tools | Create text file of stacking sites) that creates a CSV-formatted list showing all the stacking sites along with:
1.Stacking site name
2.Field name
3.Soil name
4.Hydro group
5.Township, range and section
6.Proportion of stack area on that soil
The CSV output appears in your browser, and can be saved with your browser's File | Save menu, or copied and pasted into Notepad or other text editor. Note that if a stack spans multiple soils, there will be multiple entries for that stack in the output, as seen below:
Stacking Site Name, Field Name, Soil Name, Hydro Group, TRS, Proportion of Stack Area
Stack A, 12, Plano silt loam till substratum 2 to 6 percent slopes, B, 10N 10E s29, 58
Stack A, 12, Saybrook silt loam 2 to 6 percent slopes eroded, C, 10N 10E s29, 5.7
Stack A, 12, Griswold silt loam 6 to 12 percent slopes eroded, B, 10N 10E s29, 36.3
Stack B, 12, Plano silt loam till substratum 2 to 6 percent slopes, B, 10N 10E s29, 73.7
Stack B, 12, Saybrook silt loam 2 to 6 percent slopes eroded, C, 10N 10E s29, 25.3
Stack B, 12, Griswold silt loam 6 to 12 percent slopes eroded, B, 10N 10E s29, 1
Stack C, 13, Plano silt loam till substratum 2 to 6 percent slopes, B, 10N 10E s29, 100
To differentiate multiple stacking sites in one field, you can optionally name each stack. See Drawing Tools | Edit Feature | Headland stack.
